There is a particular kind of quiet that settles over a home the morning before a child's first day of school. It is a mix of pride and worry, excitement and a small ache — the sense that a new chapter is beginning, and that someone else will now share in the job of raising your child.
At Red Butterfly Play School & Day Care, we never forget that this moment matters. Every family that walks through our gates at NBCC Heights, Sector 89, is trusting us with something irreplaceable. This post is our way of introducing ourselves properly — who we are, what we believe, and why families across Sector 89, Hayatpur, and the wider New Gurgaon corridor have made us part of their children's early years.
Where Our Name Comes From
Names are rarely accidental, and ours certainly isn't.
Red is the colour of courage, energy, and life. We chose it because we want every child in our care to feel that spark — the confidence to try something new, the energy to explore without hesitation, and the courage to simply be themselves, without apology.
Butterfly represents transformation. A butterfly does not begin as a butterfly. It begins small, uncertain, and full of potential, and it changes — gently, gradually, and entirely on its own timeline — into something extraordinary. That, to us, is the truest metaphor for early childhood. No two children transform at the same pace, and no two need the same kind of care to get there.
Together, Red Butterfly stands for children who are bold enough to reach for the sky, and tender enough to care for the world around them. It is not just a name on a signboard. It is the promise we try to keep every single day.
Our Story So Far
Red Butterfly opened its doors in Sector 89, Gurugram, with a simple but ambitious goal: to build a play school that felt less like an institution and more like a warm, extended family. Since then, we have grown — slowly and deliberately — into a full early-years campus offering everything from Pre Nursery through Prep, along with dedicated Day Care and After School Care for working parents.
Along the way, we celebrated our first graduation day, expanded into LKG, UKG, and After School programs, upgraded our campus with audio-visual classrooms and Taekwondo training, and became part of the daily rhythm of life for families across NBCC Heights, Tulip Ace, Greenopolis, and the surrounding Sector 89 and Hayatpur community. Today, we are proud to be trusted by a growing number of families in this corridor — a trust we know has to be earned fresh every single day, not just claimed once and coasted on.
What We Believe
Our philosophy rests on one idea: the mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled. We are not in the business of rushing children toward academic milestones before they are ready. We are in the business of helping each child discover what they are curious about, what they are good at, and what makes them feel safe enough to take a risk.
This shows up in six core commitments that guide everything we do:
- Nurturing First — every child feels safe, seen, and celebrated before any academic pressure enters the picture.
- Play is Learning — we believe the richest early education happens through exploration, curiosity, and joyful play, not worksheets.
- Partnership with Parents — you are our co-educators, not bystanders. We keep you informed and involved at every step.
- Holistic Growth — we nurture the whole child: mind, body, emotions, and social skills together.
- Inclusive Community — every family is welcome, and we take pride in the diversity of the families who call Red Butterfly home.
- Excellence in Care — from trained educators to clean, secure facilities, we hold ourselves to a high standard, consistently.
Our Programs — and the Journey Between Them
Early childhood is not one stage — it is several, each building on the one before it, and we have built a dedicated program for each:
- Pre Nursery (1.5–2.8 years) — building comfort, confidence, and routine, through sensory play and a gentle introduction to school life.
- Nursery (2.8–3.8 years) — developing foundational literacy, numeracy, and communication through structured, playful learning.
- LKG (3.8–4.8 years) — strengthening reading readiness, phonics, and independence as structured learning begins in earnest.
- UKG (4.8–5.8 years) — preparing children academically and socially for primary school, with growing confidence in reading, writing, and numbers.
- Prep (5.8–6.5 years) — ensuring every child enters Grade 1 with confidence and strong foundational skills, academically and emotionally.
- After School Care (for our own school-going children) — a safe, supervised, engaging space for homework, creative play, and physical activity beyond regular school hours.
Each stage is designed to hand a child confidently to the next — not to rush them, but to make sure nothing is skipped.
Why Our Learning Approach Works
Rather than a generic "play-based learning" label, here is what actually shows up in our classrooms, every day:
- Safe & Caring Environment — every child feels secure, seen, and celebrated before any academic pressure enters the picture.
- Play-Based Exploration — the richest early learning happens through curiosity, discovery, and joyful, hands-on play.
- Structured Skill Development — language, numeracy, motor skills, and life skills built deliberately, stage by stage.
- Holistic Growth — mind, body, emotions, and social skills nurtured together, not treated as separate boxes to tick.
- School Readiness — each program builds directly toward the confidence and skills the next stage — and eventually Grade 1 — will need.
- Parent Partnership — parents kept informed and involved at every step, as genuine co-educators, not bystanders.
Why Parents in Sector 89 Choose Us
We know that trust, especially when it comes to your child, is not given easily. A few things we hear most often from parents:
- Low child-to-caregiver ratios. 2:15 in Pre Nursery and Nursery, 2:20 in LKG and UKG, and 1:20 in Prep — small enough that our educators actually know each child, not just their names on a register.
- A CCTV-monitored campus, round the clock, for genuine peace of mind.
- Climate-controlled, AC classrooms that stay comfortable through Gurugram's long summers and its winters alike.
- A trained team of educators and dedicated ayas who are present, attentive, and consistent — not rotating strangers.
- Taekwondo, art, music, and celebrations, events, and themed activities throughout the year, because we believe joy and discipline can, and should, coexist in early childhood.
- Full Day Care and After School Care, built with working parents in Sector 89, NBCC Heights, and the wider Dwarka Expressway corridor genuinely in mind — not as an afterthought bolted onto a preschool schedule.
Right Here in Sector 89
We are proud to call NBCC Heights, Sector 89, Gurugram home. This part of the city — often known locally as Hayatpur — has grown quickly into a community of young families, and we have grown alongside it. Whether you live in NBCC Heights itself, or in one of the neighbouring societies across Sector 89, 89A, or the Dwarka Expressway corridor, our campus is built to be part of your everyday routine, not a long commute away from it.
We think that matters. A play school shouldn't just be a good school — it should be your school, close enough that dropping off and picking up your child is the easiest part of your day, not the hardest.
The People Behind Red Butterfly
Behind every classroom is a person who chose early childhood education as their calling, not their fallback. Our Principal, Mrs. Kiran, leads with a simple conviction — that working closely with parents and helping each child discover their potential is among the most rewarding work there is. Alongside her is a team of lead teachers, activity specialists, a dedicated Taekwondo instructor, a music teacher, and an admin team that makes sure every family feels supported from their very first enquiry.
We are, quite deliberately, a small team that knows every child by name and every parent by face. That is not something we intend to outgrow.
An Invitation
If you are a parent in Sector 89, Hayatpur, or anywhere along the New Gurgaon corridor weighing your options for your child's first school, we would love for you to come see Red Butterfly for yourself — not through a brochure, but by walking through our campus, meeting our teachers, and watching a classroom in motion.
Some things are hard to describe in words. The way a shy two-year-old warms up to a teacher over a few weeks. The pride on a child's face during their first Sports Day. The relief on a parent's face on day one, watching their child walk in without looking back. We would rather show you than tell you.
